Football has become increasingly more complex since the early days. Tactics have changed and shaped the sport we see today, from the ‘W-M’ formation commonly associated with Herbert Chapman during the 1920, to the world-renowned ‘Total Football’ of the Dutch through the 70s, to modern day tactical masters such as Pep Guardiola and José Mourinho.
Despite a natural progression in football over the decades, to this day, football still looks vastly different from one location to another. The football you see in England differs to the football you see in South America, which differs to what you see in Asia. The sheer spread of football across the globe and variations of what we see is truly why football can be considered ‘The Beautiful Game’, and here at Football Unravelled it is our duty to bring you these interpretations and differences to you for your enjoyment.
